Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to the questions we receive on a regular basis.

Why am I paying Employers NI?
An Umbrella Company is an employer and have a legal obligation to pay employer’s national insurance contributions to HMRC.
The invoice raised by your umbrella company is for the hours you work at the rate you have agreed to work it with your agency/client. This is sent to your agency/client who pays the umbrella company for the value of the invoice. The employers national insurance and margin is usually subtracted from the amount invoiced, leaving the remainder to be paid. This is the taxable salary, subject to deduction for items such as PAYE tax, Employee’s national insurance and Student Loan if applicable.
This will be the same with all compliant umbrella Companies as that must be done to remain compliant with lawful regulations surrounding PAYE.
